Encounter With A Sculptor
David is a British born artist based in London. He is inspired by human and natural forms, often synthesising his ideas with man-made and mechanical components. His work explores a variety of styles in both 3D and 2D and can be viewed at www.davidtwaller.com
From his studio, in North London, he kindly accepted to answer to our four usual questions:
What brought you to London?
It was a job opportunity in the theatre industry.
What is the last exhibition, film or show that inspired you and why?
The exhibition Gauguin at Tate Modern. I was inspired by his figurative subjects in natural settings, decorative compositions, use of paint and colour, and the sense of `importance` he applied to his own works.
If you had to leave London, what would you miss the most?
I would miss the abundance of culture, and creative people.
Could you recommend one of your favourite place (shop, restaurant , venue...) in London?
I enjoy visiting the Kings Place gallery, cafe, music venue near Regents Canal and Kings Cross station (www.kingsplace.co.uk)
