For years, I would go in the early morning to the flea market in the Quartier des Marolles before heading to my office. Brussels is full of antiques shops. Most of them are concentrated in the Quartier des petit et grand Sablons and in the web of streets leading to the popular Quartier des Marolles. My school was located in Le Sablon and at lunch time, I was already window shopping, dreaming about the origin and history behind all these objects.  

It is a paradise for antique hunters who can find antiques and curiosities for all types of budget and taste: jewelry, oceanic art, tribal art, oriental art, silverware, furniture, work of Art from the Middles Ages to the 20th Century, ceramics, earthenware, porcelain, drawings, engravings, old masters, sculpture, carpets, tapestry, antique books, coins and photography.
