Private London Tours
Curating neighbourhood visits is really our specialty. Creativity is to be found at each corner of London. We have created private London tours in collaboration with artists, writers, art historians and creative experts who have shared the places they like and the venues that inspire them. We explore the hidden gems that will remain in your memories for a long time.
Below are some examples of neighbourhood tours that we offer on a regular basis:
Dalston Discovery: Dalston (North East of London) has attracted immigrants for over 100 years; at the turn of the century it was a popular area for newly arrived Jewish people from Central Europe. In the fifties and sixties, they were replaced by a large Caribbean community and it is now popular with the Turkish community. This tour is usually led by a local artist and art historian who lived in the neighbourhood for more than 20 years. Our itinerary is full of discoveries: markets, alternative coffee shops, vintage emporium, Turkish delights…and the famous peace mural. We finish our tour in the Chocolate Factory, home to studios of artists, illustrators, ceramicists, printmakers, lighting designers, painters, and photographers. Read our blog on Dalston here.
Brixton Discovery : We typically explore the Brixton Market, the 19th Century Bon Marché building, the Murals, the various food markets and the new developments. We also look at the history of the Caribbean community and stop for a tasting menu at one of the famous Caribbean restaurants. You can read our blog here.
(Re)Discover Soho: The atmosphere of Soho in the morning is very intimate. The trucks come to clean what is left from the crazy night. Shops open their doors, the walls with their amazing history start to talk and the old Europe appears in its authenticity. Learn about the small alleyways, iconic venues, former residents and hidden gems that make Soho so special. Read our blog here.
Hampstead and the Arts: a “ballade” in Hampstead looking at the artistic, literary and intellectual characters who lived there and those who left their “shadows” in various corners of this charming and atmospheric neighbourhood. Keats, Constable, Agatha Christie, Enid Blyton, Stevenson, Goldfinger, Burton,Taylor and so many others….
The Regent’s Canal: A boat trip along the Regent’s Canal is not an ordinary cruise. It is one of our intimate private London tours, and charming. We will board at Little Venice, north of Paddington, and head downstream past the beautiful regency streets of Maida Vale, the Regent’s Park known as the ‘jewel in the crown’ and the hectic and colourful Camden Lock. In our way, our private London tours will see the landscape changing from Georgian Houses to modern Canal Houses and new impressive buildings.
An Insider View of the City: A unique opportunity to look at the architecture of the City of London under the leadership of the man who led the planning and regeneration of the area for the last 30 years. Our private London tours look at the immediate setting of St Paul’s Cathedral and its transformation over recent decades. Our route continues via Cheapside, the City’s revitalised High Street, towards Bank and the Royal Exchange and through the medieval alleyways off Cornhill. We go to Leadenhall Market and the Lloyds Building before visiting the cluster of new office towers which house London’s insurance sector. Our walk then turns north to visit Broadgate and Liverpool Street Station finishing on the north eastern corner of the City adjacent to Spitalfields.Contact
